Growing with Purpose, Leading with People

The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize SEnergy powered by Schneider Engineering as the 2025 Business of the Year (Over 50 Employees), honoring a company that has built a reputation for excellence while remaining deeply committed to its people, clients, and community.

Since 1991, SEnergy has grown from its roots in Boerne into a full-service engineering and consulting firm supporting utility and infrastructure clients across the Southern United States. Today, the company provides power engineering, energy consulting, field services, GIS, and power generation solutions to electric cooperatives, municipally owned utilities, investor-owned utilities, developers, and industrial organizations.

Through this work, SEnergy plays a vital role in helping power communities and support the infrastructure that people rely on every day.

At the heart of the company is a clear purpose: building a growing organization that creates fulfilling opportunities for employees while meeting the evolving needs of its clients.

“Our passion and purpose are to build a growing company that provides challenging, fulfilling, and rewarding opportunities to meet the aspirational goals of our employees while serving the changing needs and success of our customers,” shared Amber Asher, Marketing and Business Development Director.

While SEnergy's footprint has expanded significantly over the years, the company is most proud of something that cannot be measured by growth alone.

“We’re most proud of how we’ve grown without losing who we are,” Asher said. “As we’ve expanded our services and team, we’ve stayed intentional about protecting our culture along the way.”

That commitment has earned the company recognition as a Top Workplaces award winner since 2022, a Fast Track Award as one of the fastest-growing companies, and opportunities to partner on historic Texas Energy Fund projects.

Yet for SEnergy, success is measured by more than milestones and accolades.

“What matters most is how we show up,” Asher explained. “We treat every client like family, and that people-first mindset continues to drive everything we do.”

That same philosophy extends beyond the workplace and into the Boerne community.

Many may know SEnergy for its engineering expertise, but fewer realize the depth of the company's community involvement. Team members regularly support charitable initiatives, local fundraisers, and educational opportunities throughout the region.

The company is a proud supporter of Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries, sponsoring five events annually, including its own golf tournament. This year's tournament raised $15,000 to support local families through the organization's ministries.

SEnergy is also committed to investing in future generations through internship opportunities, partnerships with Boerne ISD practicum students, and its "Day at SEnergy" program, which introduces local high school students to career opportunities within the industry.

One of the company's most meaningful traditions is Wreaths of Honor, an initiative SEnergy has led since 2019. Each December, community members gather at the Boerne Cemetery to place wreaths on every veteran's headstone, honoring those who served our country and preserving their legacy for future generations.

Receiving Business of the Year recognition is especially meaningful for a company that has called Boerne home for more than three decades.

“Receiving this award means so much to our entire team,” Asher said. “As a company that’s grown here in Boerne since 1991, being recognized by the Chamber feels especially meaningful. It reflects not only the work we’re doing with our clients, but the relationships we’ve built along the way within our community.”

Looking ahead, SEnergy sees tremendous opportunity across the energy sector. Rapid population growth, expanding businesses, new power generation projects, and continued development across Texas are creating new opportunities for the company to serve clients and contribute to the state's future.

Most importantly, SEnergy remains focused on growing intentionally.

“We’re investing in our people, enhancing our customer experience, and strengthening the people-first culture that defines who we are and how we serve,” Asher shared.

As SEnergy continues to grow and evolve, its commitment to people, partnership, and community remain unchanged. That dedication has helped the company become not only a leader within its industry, but also a valued community partner and employer.

Congratulations to SEnergy powered by Schneider Engineering on being named the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce's 2025 Business of the Year (Over 50 Employees).
