Celebrating National Nonprofit Day: Honoring the Organizations That Make Boerne Stronger
Every August 17, National Nonprofit Day gives communities an opportunity to recognize the organizations that dedicate their time, resources, and passion to making a difference. Here in Boerne and Kendall County, that impact can be seen in nearly every corner of our community.
From supporting families in need and caring for animals to providing educational opportunities, promoting the arts, supporting veterans, preserving our natural spaces, serving seniors and youth, and so much more, local nonprofits play an essential role in making our community a vibrant and caring place to live. There are hundreds of nonprofit organizations serving the Boerne and Kendall County area, each with its own mission and purpose. The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce is proud to be home to more than 150 nonprofit members, representing just a portion of the many organizations working every day to strengthen our community.

Celebrating Our Nonprofit Members
At the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce, supporting our nonprofit community is an important part of our mission. Through our Nonprofit Council, we provide opportunities for nonprofit leaders to connect, share resources, learn from one another, collaborate, and increase awareness of the important work happening throughout our community.
National Nonprofit Day is a perfect opportunity to put that work in the spotlight. Throughout the year, our nonprofit members are quietly, and sometimes not so quietly, making an incredible difference. They are helping people through difficult seasons, creating opportunities for others, bringing our community together, and addressing needs that might otherwise go unmet.

How You Can Celebrate
You don't have to work for a nonprofit to make a difference. One of the best ways to celebrate National Nonprofit Day is simply to learn more about the organizations in your own backyard.
Find a cause that matters to you. Attend a nonprofit event. Volunteer your time. Make a donation. Purchase something from a nonprofit fundraiser. Share an organization's social media post. Introduce someone to a nonprofit whose mission they may connect with. There are countless ways to get involved, and every contribution matters.
