5 Jun 2010
Mark your calendar for Saturday, June 5th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Boerne Adventure Fest is almost here, and it’s taking place at Joshua Springs Park and Preserve! Spend the day discovering ways to have fun outdoors with lots of exciting activities. Fish on the beautiful lakes, enter the child and adult team fishing tournament, try some archery, or ride a horse along a hill country trail. There will be a rock wall for climbing, mountain biking, and kayaks will be available to paddle the lake. Jump and flip on the bungee trampoline quad jump, and try your hand at washers and horseshoes. For those with a need for speed, there will be remote controlled airplane and car shows!
Demonstrations include Birds of Prey with Last Chance Forever Bird of Prey Conservancy, and live snakes, lizards and unusual critters brought to you by South Texas Herpetology. Activities for kids include “Miracles of Motion” by Mad Science-the world’s leading science enrichment providers with hands-on science experiences for children. There will be plenty of food and drink booths, and exciting exhibitors too!
Adventure Fest is also part music festival! There will be live music all day, so kick back in the shade and enjoy some great music such as Folk Rock / Flamenco / Afro-beat by Austin’s Marc Utter and Blackland, folk rock, bluegrass and funk by San Marcos’s Foscoe Jones and The Distractions, and Peacefield- alternative Folk Rock with a Conscience, as the headliners.
Boerne Adventure Fest, sponsored by Stanbio Laboratory in Boerne, celebrates the adventurous spirit of the outdoor environment in the Texas Hill Country and welcomes all adventurers near and far regardless of age. This event was designed to give everyone a chance to sample some of the great activities that can be enjoyed outdoors. Free admission! Adventure Fest starts at 10 am and ends at 6pm at Joshua Springs Park and Preserve, just a few minutes from Boerne.
