Job Fair 2008

The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce is pleased to officially announce the first annual Job Fair from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at the Boerne Convention and Community Center located at 820 Adler Road in Boerne (view map).

The Greater Boerne Area Chamber has a strong commitment to improve the economic vitality in Kendall County and the surrounding communities. We have designed the Job Fair as an event that helps further this commitment by aiding residents in their job searches and providing existing businesses with a venue in which to expand their employee and customer bases.

The Job Fair Exhibition is sponsored by the Chamber’s Business Education Council. Representatives from leading businesses and industries from the surrounding Hill Country region will be present to speak with community members and potential job-seekers. “The job fair is a great collaborative effort, and we hope to attract a large number of participants,” said Susan Allen, President of Texas Heritage Bank in Leon Springs and Chairman of this event. “This project is far reaching, and we believe that the community will greatly benefit from the event.”

Everyone is invited to attend. Admission is free.

All middle and senior high school students are encouraged to attend to learn more about careers they might be interested in or available part-time or seasonal job openings.

Boerne area job seekers are invited to take part in the area’s largest career fair too. Bring a resume and dress to impress those employers who are actively recruiting and want an opportunity to meet and interview the area’s most qualified job seekers.

Businesses can reserve a spot and pay online (read how) to participate and take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to recruit prospective employees, advertise job opportunities and educate residents in the community about the careers your business support. You can share your company’s educational and experience requirements and discuss the unique skills and characteristics that will make an employee successful in your business.  Download the Job Fair application now.

The cost to participate is $75.

Businesses interested in being a part of this event call the Chamber and ask for Bonnie Westley 830-249-8000 or email her.  Register and reserve your space before Friday, October 3rd.
